Young Lions and Menterian to Semi

2 February 2020 – Perak Rugby League resumes this week after a week off due to the holiday. Match week 2 saw 3 tight matches with Young Lions, Menterian and Cap Ayam RC secured the important win in their respective matches.

2 wins out of 2 matches saw Young Lions move into the driving seat to secure a semi-final spot in the Premier division. The junior team of Ipoh Lions made sure they collect all 3 points as they overcame another team of Ipoh, Ipoh Giants on Sunday. Young Lions won the match 29 – 12. Young Lions sits comfortably at the second place of Pool A Premier with 6 points.

On Saturday saw Menterian handed UTP Driller their 2nd loss in 2 matches. The match ended 29 – 24 for Menterian as their second win move them top of Pool A with 2 points advantage over Young Lions. Menterian and Young Lions will play one another in Match week 4, a crucial match that could decide the opponent in the Premier semi-final. Both Driller and Ipoh Giants will play one another in other Pool A match.

In Pool B, Cap Ayam got their first win by the closest possible margin over Anchorman. Cap Ayam RC beat Anchorman 30 – 29 as they reignite their challenge after they lost the opening match to Briged Utara. Briged Utara and Anchorman will face one another on the 15th of February. That match could decide the fate of all 3 teams in Pool B.
