Ladies retain Bronze

8 December 2019 – Malayia 7s Women team retain the Bronze medal they won back in 2017. The Panthera defeated Indonesia in the Bronze medal match.


Malaysia advance to the bronze medal match after they finished 3rd in the round-robin. 3 wins and 2 defeats to the top seeded, Thailand and Philippines, force Tan Thiam Jin girls to settle for the 3rd place.

The 3rd place match was not as easy as they expected, with Indonesia forming a stunning comeback after Malaysia lead 19 – 0. Malaysia top try scorer, Norfarhana Aziz scored 2 tries as the referee also awarded Malaysia with a penalty try. Malaysia managed to stop Indonesia and secured the Bronze with 19 – 12 scoreline.

Speedster, Norfarhana Aziz shines through out the tournament as she scored 8 tries in 6 matches.

Thailand women proved to be on another level in South East Asia. They overcame host, Philippines 17 – 7 in the final.
