Two legs against UAE confirmed

4 December 2019 – Malaysia Under 19 team is set for two legs showdown against the United Arab Emirates this month. The two teams are set to compete for the Asia Rugby Championship Under 19 Division 2 title.

Malaysia will host both matches with Malaysia favourite rugby field, Padang A UPM will be the location for the two matches. The first match is being scheduled to take place on 15th December 2019. The return leg is 3 days later, on 18th December 2019.

Both teams returned to the Asia Rugby Championship Under 19 clashed with both missed the 2018 campaign. Malaysia withdrew from the tournament in Bangkok, Thailand last year for the Division 1 which cause them to be relegated to Division 2 in 2019.

Ironically, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates faced one another back in 2017. Malaysia beat UAE 36 – 19 for the 3rd/4th place match in the Division 1 tournament which took place at the Manila International School, Philippines.
