15 November 2019 – National players, Mohd Amin Jamaluddin has secured a contract to play in Germany. The 30 years old is now playing with TV 1834 Pforzheim Rugby after has succesfully obtained the contract until May 2020. To make it greater, Bonzer will have the chance to renew the contract base on his performance during the season.
Amin has another former Malaysia National player to thanks as Samoan born Sae Faalupega Magele suggested his name to the club. Sae is also playing for Pforzheim Rugby having made the switch from Spain to Germany after he spent a season at CAU Madrid Rugby. Sae made the suggestion as the team was in need of tighthead prop as the player in that position is out due to injury. Bonzer and Sae know each other very well especially from their time in National team as well as when the played together for COBRA.
Bonzer natural position is to play in the second row or as center. Sae , however, believed that Bonzer can play as the prop as the 181cm tall forward used to play in that position during his time in New Zealand back in 2015. The Tunku Mahkota Ismail Sports School graduate is a well experienced player, having represent Malaysia numerous time in 7s and 15s format.
TV 1834 Pforzheim Rugby is competing in the top league in Germany where 16 teams compete in two regional divisions. Pforzheim Rugby is in South/West Division and they last won the championship back in 2015/16 season. The club advanced to the final 4 times.
