It’s all Malaysia final in Bangkok

9 September 2019 – The national 7s team made their way to Bangkok as they continue their preparation for the 2019 SEA Games by taking part in the Chang 7s. They fulfill the expectation by winning the tournament, beating Awesome RC, another club from Malaysia.

Both Malaysia 7s and Awesome top their respective group with 100% record. Malaysia 7s team scored at least 5 tries in each group match when they overcame Singapore Wanderers (38-0), Laos (43-0), Police Thai (31-10) and Wangdern Club (40-0) to finish top of Pool A. Awesome on the other hand topped group B when they overcame 2 national teams, Singapore(15-7) and Cambodia(50-) as well as Navy(28-5) and Airforce(14-0) of Thailand.

There’s no stopping both with Malaysia got better of Thai Air Force and Singapore to book the final spot. Awesome reach final as they defeated Wangdern Club and Police.

Malaysia 7s

It was like the national 7s squad vs Malaysia B team in the final. Malaysia 7s got better of Awesome who was lead by the ever experience Fairuz Abdul Rahman, with additional Pacific power of Saki Gavidi. Numbers of former 7s team trainee are also in the Awesome setup with Badrul Muktee, A’aziem Badaruddin, Zharif Affandi and Nazreen Fitri.

Awesome RC at Chang 7s

Malaysia 7s win the Chang 7s as they beat Awesome 26 – 5. Malaysia 7s tries was scored by Amalul Hazim, Zulhisham Rasli, Anwarul Hafiz and Wan Izzudin while Awesome got their consolation try through Kelantan born Wan Azley.
