SEMASHUR sweetest dream

29 April 2019 – Sekolah Menengah Sains Hulu Selangor (SEMASHUR) lifted the 2019 Malaysia Airport Chairman’s Cup as they beat Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK) in the final. It was the repeat of the 2018 final with SEMASHUR got the revenged they wanted with the 22 – 19 win.

SEMASHUR had a dream start as they lead 10 – 0 after 2 tries in the first 20 minutes of the match. MCKK managed to close the gap with their own try and complete conversion as the first half ended with 10 – 7 scoreline for SEMASHUR.

MCKK become the first ever team to lead SEMASHUR in Super School match in 2019 edition when their second try of the match saw MCKK lead 12 – 10 at some point. SEMASHUR paged them back immediately with another try and as MCKK tried to gather their tactical and composure back, SEMASHUR got their 4th and last try of the match. A complete conversion saw SEMASHUR extended the lead to 22 – 12.

The 10 points gap ignited MCKK spirit and they gathered their strength back, resulting another try for MCKK in the last 5 minutes of the match. MCKK completed the conversion made it a 3 points game. It was however a little to late for MCKK as SEMASHUR held firm.

Sekolah Menengah Sains Hulu Selangor brought home RM10000, championship trophy and medals as the champion. Other than that, SEMASHUR players also won 4 more individual awards while MCKK grabbed one.
