SEMASHUR to complete the sweetest dream.

Muizzuddin Yahaya

26 April 2019 – The climax of the 2019 Super School 15s is finally here as it will be the repeat of 2018 final match fixtures. SM Sains Hulu Selangor (SEMASHUR) will be wishing to go one better in this year edition as they will face 2018 champion, Malay College Kuala Kangsar (MCKK). They will be battling for The 2019 Malaysia Airports Chairman’s Challenge Trophy Cup

SEMASHUR proved to be in their own class since the kick off of the tournament. They comfortably topped the Group B after 3 out 3 group matches win against English College (EC), Sekolah Dato’ Abdul Razak (SDAR) and Sekolah Sultan Alam Shah (SA). They trashed SM Sains Selangor (SMSS) 54 – 17, the biggest points scored throughout the tournament in quarter-final before they sneak in passed Sekolah Tuanku Abdul Rahman (STAR) 26 – 21 in the semi-final.

The school from Selangor will not want the same story to happen again this year. They were the big favourite to lift the cup back in 2018, especially after they lifted the league title but MCKK had another plan on that day, beating them comfortably, in the end, to bring the cup back to Kuala Kangsar.

Mohd Soleh after the press conference today

SEMASHUR head coach, Mohd Soleh Abdul Hamid is confident with his squad. “This is one of the best squad I ever coach. They have proven times and times again by winning major school tournaments all around Malaysia.” The head coach certainly thinks that they are preparing well for the game. “We are ready, both physically and mentally for the match. This set of players have what it takes to bring the trophy back.”

This SEMASHUR batch won it all. They are the champion of 2017 MSSM U15 Datuk Sulaiman Duad. They won the 2018 U17 Johor Rugby Carnival They also enter the elusive list of MCKK Premier 7s champion when the won the title earlier this year. This championship will make this batch as one the best ever produced by SM Sains Hulu Selangor.

The ever reliable Hariz Ezzat

One player who will receive major attention from MCKK is Hariz Ezzat Hamidon. He is capable of dictating the match and he has shown his capability throughout the tournament. Hariz won a number of awards, notably the best player in 2017 MSSM U15 Datuk Sulaiman Daud Cup as well as in 2019 MCKK Premier 7s, where SEMASHUR became the champion as they beat MCKK in the final match.

The final game is scheduled to take place at the Proton City Stadium with kick off is set to take place at 4.00pm. For those who cannot make it, you can still watch the match live via our live streaming channel at
