Raimi is the new GM for ERC

23 April 2019 – Former Malaysia 15s Manager and Vice president of Malaysia Rugby, Raimi Yusof has been appointed as the new General Manager for the Eagles Rugby Club. The appointment will see Raimi manages the Sandakan based club for the upcoming 3 years.

As contacted, Raimi shares that he felt honoured to sit it the position. “Eagles Rugby Club is the most complete club in Malaysia with the best facilities to offer. The club aims to be self-sustaining in the next 3 years,” shared Raimi when contacted.

The President of the club, Mr Vela Tan envisions the club as a hub to develop great Malaysian players as well as to provide local and international coaches with great training and education platform. ERC provides the Sir Gordon Tiejens Coaching course regularly. The club also offer great venue for national and international teams to prepare for tournaments.

Raimi selection to the position did not come as a surprise as he is one of the person responsible for bringing Malaysia 15s team to the ARC Premier. Raimi was the Malaysia manager for 5 years, since 2014.

He has managed a successful Get into rugby program under Malaysia Rugby where the program has attracted more than 130 thousand participants at grassroots rugby since his election as vice president for Malaysia Rugby.
