Gaurus pull out

27 February 2019 – Two matches, two heavy defeats and only score one penalty. Silver Gaurus endured a very tough time in the Malaysia Rugby League Division 1. The 2017 AirAsia Malaysia Rugby League Division 1 champion unable to replicate their pass success in 2019.

The latest news that came in this morning saw the announcement that the Perak base team pull out from the competition. It was confirmed by the Malaysia Rugby League tournament director, Fahmi Jalil via WhatsApp application to the media this morning.

With that, KL Tigers will be given a walk-over 28 – 0 win over Silver Gaurus in the match week 3 which was scheduled to take place next Saturday.

There was no concrete reason given by the Gaurus management with the only reason given by Gaurus manager, Mohd Harris is due to technical difficulties.

Silver Gaurus become the second team to withdraw after Iskandar Raiders pulled out with a week before the league start.
