6 February 2019 – The two days tournament saw high-level of rugby played during the GIR Arau 7s rugby tournament. There were some top-notch play with top school and alumni battle it out for the cup.

3 titles were on the line in the second day of the event. Jitra Old Boys Queen (JOB Queen) Under 19 Girl team secured the first title of the day. They had a good group match with 2 wins out of 3. MARESMA Kulim stopped the Queen from securing 100% record in the group as they hold for 0 – 0 draw in the last group game. Queen overcame MRSM Merbok 5 – 0 in the quarter-final before they book the final spot with 2 – 0 win over MARESMA Kulim in the quarter-final. A single try was enough for the Queen as they beat MRSM PDRM 5 – 0 to lift the Under 19 touch title.

Sekolah Menengah Sains Hulu Selangor (SEMASHUR) has tons of outstanding talent in their Under 17 team. This batch has been winning almost every title in 2017 and 2018, notably the MSSM Milo Under 15 (2017), Johor Rugby Carnival Under 16 (2018) and so much more. 2019 starts with a positive note when the team win the Under 17 GIR Arau 7s title. SEMASHUR was proved to be too strong for SMK King George V (KGV) in the final, as they ran out with 28 – 0 win to lift the title. KGV unable to produce the same display they had in the semi-final when they shocked tournament favourite, Tunku Mahkota Ismail Sports School (SSTMI) 10 – 0 in the semi-final.

The Under 19 categories saw number of development states team took part. They already start their preparation for the 2020 SUKMA which will take place in Johor. Teams will be looking closely at Negeri Sembilan and Terengganu after both team display outstanding effort in the final match. Negeri Sembilan came out victorious after the final whistle, overcame Terengganu 7 – 5. Earlier, Negeri Sembilan undone Tunku Mahkota Ismail Sports School 12 – 7 in the semi-final while Terengganu got better of Ex-English Colleger of Johor with 10 – 7 scoreline.
