19 teams tone up Johor League

1 February 2019 – 19 teams confirmed their participation in this year Johor Rugby League. That is the most number of competing team in the history of the league.


The teams are being divided into 2 divisions. 10 teams will compete in Division 1 while the remaining 9 are in the Second Division. Both divisions are consist of 2 pool, A and B.

2018 champion, Beringin Rendang RC will be the team to look for in this campaign in Division 1. They are in Pool A alongside the Wildcats, Ex-EC, Malay Village People RC and Pasir Gudang Ronin. Group B will see the Merc Jr, Kluang RC, UTHM, Mammoth and Batu Pahat Jokers.

Johor Rugby General Manager, Norfazreim shared his thought on the league. “We are happy to have 19 teams in the league. We are trying our best to create a much bigger player pool especially to play for Johor in the Agong Cup as well as in the national 7s series.

The league will start on 23rd February with the final is being scheduled to take place 13th April 2019.

The league is in good hand as Muhammad Fikry bin Zahry will be in charge to lead the organising team as the tournament director.
