Legend league return

24 January 2019 – It’s two days before the start of a brand new season for Veteran Alumni Rugby League. The second edition return after a successful first ever league which took place last year.


The 8 teams who compete in the first edition will continue in 2019. However, it will be a different format this time around. All 8 teams will compete in a league format, as they will be having 7 matches altogether.

The changes of the format will also see the extension of the league duration. With the match week one due to start in January, the tournament organiser shared that they expect to have the final match in November 2019. There will be one match only for each month.

The match week 1 will start this week. 2018 champion, ASAS will start the campaign by welcoming STJ-HOW at Padang Alamanda on 26 January. The beaten finalist, STAROBA, will be hosting SMS Old Boys at UiTM Shah Alam.

For the record, ASAS overcame STAROBA 13 – 11 in Cup final match which took place at UKM, Bangi last year.
