New leadership for KRP
12 January 2019 – The Annual Gathering Meeting (AGM) of the Kesatuan Ragbi Perak (KRP) saw 5 new faces for the 2019 – 2021 tenure. It was something which is expected to happen prior to the gathering as the Perak rugby community already talks about the previous KRP Presiden, Dato’ Shahrul Zaman who wish to step down.
Mr Mahader Ahmad bin Ayub is the new Presiden for KRP while Mr Khairul Shahril bin Amin is the new Deputy Presiden.
The full list of the brand new KRP leadership team are as follow
President: Mr Mahader Ahmad Bin Ayub
Deputy President: Mr Khairul Shahril Bin Amin
Vice President: Mr Sevakumaran A/L Sankaranlingam
Vice President: Mr Mohd Afifi Bin Mohd Arif
Tournament Director: Mr Firdaus Bin Ahmad
Development Director: Mr Mohd Yusnizam Bin Md
Coaching Director: Mr Naharudeen Bin Othman
Referee Director: Helmi Bin Md. Isa
3 names who remain on the list from the previous team are Mr Sevakumar, Mr Naharudeen and Mr Helmi. They are expected to continue their outstanding work with Perak.
Currently, Perak is one of the most active rugby states in Malaysia with great achievement throughout the year. They won major trophies such as 2016 Agong Cup, 2018 Overall Naza National 7s Series as well as played host on the international tournament such as the 2017 Asia Rugby Championship – Division 1. It will be interesting to see how this new leadership can match or outdo the previous team.
More than 50 representatives from 32 clubs under KRP made their way to the gathering which took place the Kesatuan Ragbi Perak office.
