The session was conducted by Warrant Officer Class 1 (R) Sansudin Saleh, one of the top Malaysia Rugby referees at the moment. “The scopes of the sharing session are about the tackle, scrum, ruck, line up as well as on the foul play. We also emphasise on the new law such as the need to bring back the player that being lift safely during the line-up. The other issue is on when the player does not want to make contact during the line-up or refuse to make the maul”, explained Sansudin as contacted.

Sansuddin is a very experienced referee with his involvement as the ARFU referee panels from 2013 to 2016. He himself is a good player, representing Malaysia during Sri Lanka 7s (2002) and ARFU Thailand back in 2003.

“JLJ played an important part in my career and this is one of the ways for me to give back to them”, shared Sansudin who played for JLJ for 15 years (1994 – 2011).

30 players, as well as management, attend the session and they will be hoping to this refresher and early exposure to the new rule can give them a slight edge over the other team in Division 1.

JLJ Diraja finished the 2017 AirAsia Malaysia Rugby League as the runner-up as they went down to the Silver Gaurus in the final match.
