Sapporo will decide the team

27 July 2018 – Malaysia 7s team will be heading to Japan as they continue their preparation for the upcoming Asia Games in Jakarta, Indonesia. To this date, this Asia Invitational 7s in Sapporo will be the last tournament for the national team before the Games.

Four teams including Malaysia will take part in the tournament. Malaysia will face two Japan teams, the Japan SDS and Japan Youth while the other national team in the tournament is Chinese Taipei.

Saizul Hafifi admits “Sapporo will be the last chance for players to impress as we are looking for the last 12 players to Jakarta. I want the player to do their best for the team and get the best result from the tournament.”

The team is struggling to get quality test match. The joined two local tournaments, cruised and became the champion on both occasions. They only had one quality, tough match, in the final against Sabah OSCA Warriors where they only manage to win by a single point.

There is no confirmation on what type of team will represent Japan we can expect quality as Japan is the top nation in Asia.
