SEMASHUR win double

2 July 2018 – It was the repeat of the 2017 MSSM Milo Under 15 final where SM Sains Hulu Selangor (SEMASHUR) overcame SM Sains Pokok Sena (SAINA) 15 – 0 in the final of the of NRDP SM Sains Selangor Under 16 men category. However, SEMASHUR needed extra time to lift the trophy after both teams tied 5 – 5 after the final whistle.

Najmuddin Nor Hisham scored the try for SEMASHUR in the normal time before Hariz Ezzat Hamidon scored the vital try in the death to give SEMASHUR the title.

To make things greater, Hariz Ezzat Hamidon received the best player award. The trophy was presented by the Malaysia Rugby Union (MRU) president, Dato Shahrul Zaman Yahya presented the trophy to the team and Hariz.

Earlier in the day, SEMASHUR women team lift the Under 16 Women title. Lady luck was smiling on SEMASHUR side as they need the coin toss to overcome the tournament host, SM Sains Selangor in the final. There was no separation for both side even after the 4 minute of extra time.

The girl team was only established earlier in June and only have limited time to train.

SEMASHUR Under 14 team also brought back the title as they beat King Edward VII in the Plate final.

Both SEMASHUR boys and girls teams have the perfect preparation for the upcoming SBP 7s which will take place at SM Sains Teluk Intan in July.
