20 June 2018 – Malaysia 7s team cut their holiday short and continue their training at the Universiti Putra Malaysia, Serdang today. The team is preparing for the upcoming 2018 Asia Game in Indonesia later this year.
18 players reported for duty including two new faces, Muhd Safiy bin Mohd Said and Nur Azmi Saruman. They replace Muhammad A’aziem Badaruddin who withdrew due to personal reason as well as Sabahan born Badrul Muktee who did not have the permission from his employee.
The team will head south on the 23rd as they will take part in the 4 ways friendly match. They will face two teams from Singapore, as well as the Malaysia University team. The matches will take place at the Tunku Mahkota Ismail Sports School.
They are hoping to reach their peak during the Asia Games in Indonesia after gained so much experience in the recent 2018 Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast last April.
Malaysia 7s team is also set to compete in 2 local tournaments later next month.
