30 January 2018 – It will be the day to remember for Tunku Mahkota Ismail Sports School especially for their rugby players as they were visited by Dato’ Shahrul Zaman Yahya, The President of Malaysia Rugby Union. Dato’ Shahrul becomes the first-ever MRU president to visit the school.
Accompanied by the delegate from Perak SUK as well Perak MSN, Dato’ Shahrul was welcome with Haka performance by the SSTMI rugby players. As the Perak Sports Exco, he took this chance to visit Perak students who are studying and preparing for the upcoming 2018 SUKMA Perak later this year.
26 athletes from Perak are studying at the Tunku Mahkota Ismail Sports School. They are coming from various sports. 7 of them are rugby players from SSTMI Under 16 to the Under 19 squad.

5. Mohd Shah Izwan Bin Nordin
6. Mohd Daniel bin Md zan
7. Mohd Aliff Nazmi bin Mohd Zawawi
Mohammad Khalil was part of Malaysia Under 19 team who played in Manila at the end of last year. Mohd Shah Izwan and Mohd Daniel also represented Malaysia Under 17 NRDP team who finish fourth in Taiwan. All 3 of them are expected to be part of Perak squad in the 2018 SUKMA Perak.
SSTMI is the one and only high-performance school under the National Rugby Development Program (NRDP) in Malaysia.
