STAROBA started veteran campaign with positive note

14 January 2018 – The Sekolah Tuanku Abdul Rahman Old Boys Association (STAROBA) started the Veteran Alumni Rugby League on the positive note. They recorded the win in the opening encounter against the Old Putra Associate (OPA).

STAROBA beat OPA 29 – 10 in the match that took place at the Universiti Putra Malaysia. It was all about STAROBA as the comfortably lead 15 – 0 from two tries, a conversion as well as a penalty. OPA finally managed to break STAROBA to score their only try in the match.

STAROBA continue to dominate and extend the lead. They add one more try and completed the conversion as OPA added 3 more points from the penalty. The score 29 – 10 remained until the final whistle as STAROBA recorded the first win.

This match completed the match week one of the first ever Veteran Alumni Rugby League 2018. ASAS Veteran recorder the biggest win in match week one win 41 – 24 over the STJOBA. They top the group B on points difference as both ASAS and STAROBA collected 5 points from match week one. STJOBA will face another hard task as they will take on STAROBA in the second match while ASAS will face OPA on the same day.

In Group A, SDARA took an early lead as they overcame SMSsOB 23 – 15 in the first match. They lead VIOBA who recorded the first win as they overcame KKB Greatwall 14 – 2 in their match. KKB will face the group leader SDARA in their second match as VIOBA will test SMSsOB. All the match week 2 will be played on 3rd February.
