Parents joined coaches in medical course
11 December 2017 – 10 women and 5 men completed their Medical Level 1 FAIR Course. The 1-day course took place at the COBRA Rugby Club House.
The course was organized by the COBRA Rugby Club in collaboration with the Malaysia Rugby Union. It was attended by the COBRA and KL Tigers Development coaches and managers. 10 rugby parents from both club also spend one day to complete the course.
3 World Rugby educator, Dr. Nik Hazima Wan Hamat, Dr. Wazien Wafa and Dr. Muhammad Hazwan were on hand in delivering the objective of the course. Dr. Nik Hazima shared “Parents decided to join the program as they are aware the importance of having the basic medical knowledge. They realized the need to have the capability to take care of kids.”
The four main objectives of this course:
1. To learn and assist the team/players/medic during injuries especially concussion/ neck injuries
2. To train the BLS/ CPR
3. To learn basic management for limb injuries
4. To educate all participants regarding important of the first aiders especially in club/school level.
The medical educator team will come out with 2018 medical course schedule. It will be open for everyone (coaches/ manager/players/team physio/parents/teacher)
