3 November 2917 – National player, Wan Mohammad Asyraf received Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Vice-Chancellor Award. He received the award during the 59th Convocation Ceremony at the Dewan Sultan Iskandar, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.
The award is given to the most outstanding graduate from each faculty, UTMSPACE mainstream programmes and also part-time programmes who have met the selection criteria and conditions set by the university. Each recipient from the faculties and UTMSPACE will receive the award in the forms of a medal, cash, and Certificate of Commendation.
Wan Mohammad Asyraf topped in Bachelor of Engineering (Civil). Better known as Cerap among his peer, he also received Dean’s Award. The award is given to graduates who have attained CGPA of 3.50 and above.
2017 has been an outstanding year for Cerap. He won his first cap during the Asia Rugby Championship Division 1 in Ipoh. He played an important role as Malaysia won the ARC Division 1 for the second time in a row. Cerap also helped Johor to win their second ever Piala Agong. They produce an outstanding comeback to defeat the host in the final.
Wan Mohammad Asyraf needs to step up his game in 2018. He is expected to be part of Malaysia team in the quest to win the Asia Rugby Championship Premier against Hong Kong and South Korea and go all the way to qualify in 2019 Japan Rugby World Cup.
