2 November 2017 – Each and every rugby fan in Malaysia will be hoping for the National 15s team to do wonder in 2018. They will have 4 important matches, with home and away leg against Hong Kong and South Korea in order to qualify for the 2019 Japan Rugby World Cup. The champion in this 3 ways encounter will meet the Oceania winner before the winner will play in the repechage where only one team will qualify for the world cup.
It is still a very long way to go for Malaysia but everything seems possible. To make it greater, if Malaysia qualifies to play in Japan, the national team will be in the same group with 2015 champion, New Zealand and 2 times winner, South Africa. Another team in group B is Italy while the fourth team will be another team from Africa.
This could be the dream fixture for every Malaysia rugby fan. It is in their wildest dream to see the likes of Syahir Asraf, Fairuz Rahman and others go head to head against Sony Bill Williams, Keiran Read, Eben Etzebeth and others.
Malaysia who already started their centralized training will be hoping to maximise their effort in order to go through Hong Kong and South Korea. Malaysia will face South Korea in the opening encounter, scheduled to take place on the 28th April in Kuala Lumpur.
2018 will be the year to look for. It will be one long exciting year for Malaysia Rugby scene.
