28 October 2017 – Malaysia Get Into Rugby team is doing well when they put Malaysia in the World top 20. 131 unions all across the globe are actively conducting the program with 28 out of 29 Union including Malaysia are doing great in the program.
Get into Rugby aim is to encourage players of all ages to Try, Play and Stay in Rugby. Get Into Rugby will promote the values of the Game and ensure children are encouraged to try Rugby in a safe and progressive environment.
Malaysia sits 18th with 22 875 participants up until September 2017. South Africa sits top of the list with 169 663 participants followed by Japan (123 604) and India in third (100 128).
Within the Asia Union, Malaysia firmly in the 7th place behind Japan, India, China, Pakistan, Hong Kong and Sri Lanka. There is no other South East Asia nation in the World top 20.
Malaysia recorded the most participants in Malacca back in September when more than 1000 turn out. One of the participants, Maslieya Nur Athirah bt Masdi won the tournament MVP at JENESYS Get Into Rugby in Japan.
Get into rugby create chances for pupils to try and enjoy the game. Early exposure to the game should be to create more quality rugby player and fans all across the nation.
