SEMASHUR lifted both Zealord titles.

24 October 2017 – The tournament host, Sekolah Menengah Sains Hulu Selangor won both titles during the SEMASHUR Zealord 10s Rugby. The tournament which took place at SEMASHUR field saw 16 teams took part in each category. SEMASHUR certainly did not want to let their home crowds down. They showed great teamwork and excellent determination which saw them dominate each match in the tournament since day one.

Both SEMASHUR Under 13 and Under 14 teams cruised since the first day in the group stage. The Under 13 team did not let even a try passed them during the group stage. They showed domination with 33 – 0 over BASIS, 48 – 0 win over SMSAH and wrap out their group stage in style with 38 – 0 win over Sekolah Berasrama Penuh Integrasi Jempol.

The Under 14 matched their junior record. They recorded 17 – 0 over SERATAS in the very first match of the tournament before continuing their excellent form with 15 – 0 win over STJ. They ended they group match with another scintillating= display over KL Saracens.

The two teams recorded 19 – 0 on their respective opponent during the cup/plate quarter-final stage. Under 13 beat SSAAS while their senior overcame INTERGOM.

They continue their dominance in the Cup Semi Final. The Under 13 beat Sekolah Dato’ Abdul Razak 22 – 0 while the Under 14 smashed SASER 34 – 0 in their semifinal match.

Sekolah Tuanku Jaafar was no match for the SEMASHUR Under 13. They ran out 19 – 0 win over STJ which also means that the Under 13 team did not concede a single try throughout the tournament. This great achievement was also helped by MUHAMMAD ZAFRAN NAIM B. MAZLAN who the best backline title while their captain, MOHAMAD DANIAL HAIKAL B. AB. KADIR won the best overall player award.

Sekolah Sultan Alam Shah gave their all but they unable to stop the host from in the final. Two tries in each half put SEMASHUR in the commanding lead. SAS only have the chance to play their best rugby at the very last minute of the match which resulting in a try but it was a little too late. SEMASHUR became the double champion with 10 – 7 win over SAS. WAN MOOHD AFIQ BIN WAN ZUL won the best forward while ADAM FAIQ BIN KAMARULZAMAN won the overall best player for the Under 14 tournament.
