Tengkok to miss the rest of ARC
16 May 2017 – Mohd Azmir Zanul Abidin better known as Tengkok among Malaysia rugby fan will have to watch his teammate from the sideline for the rest of the Asia Rugby Championship Division 1 2017. Azmir suffered injury as early as in 7th minutes during Malaysia first match against United Arab Emirates.
Azmir will not be able to continue his journey as he suffered concussion after a collision with the United Arab Emirates player. Azmir will have to rest for 3 weeks (World Rugby law) He will be replace with Muhammad Amirul Aqil bin Kamsol who play for NS Wanderers in AirAsia Malaysia Rugby League 2017.
Azmir played an important part as Malaysia secured the tittle in the last year edition as he contributed 2 tries in the last match.
Malaysia will also have to start without Mohd Fairuz Abdul Rahman who contributed 9 points in the first match. He suffered knee injury and should be back for Malaysia crucial last match against Sri Lanka on 20th May.
Another casualty in the first match saw Muhammad Syabil Laila who came on in the last 30 minutes. He suffered leg injury. Both Fairuz and Syabil will be replace bt Wan Mohammad Asyraf and Sae Faalupega.
Malaysia will be hoping to continue their fine form as they will take on the Philippines on 17th May 2017. United Arab Emirates are hoping to bounce back from the match day one defeat. They will take on Sri Lanka in the earlier match.
