Tsunami went berserk!

4 February 2017 – SSTMI Tsunami forget their recent lost to UiTM Lions and did everything they could to trash Panthers Blowpipes in the last group match. SSTMI Tsunami needed to win to have any chance of securing the last quarter final spot of Group B, 2017 AirAsia Malaysia Rugby League.

SSTMI Tsunami scored six tries and completed five of the conversions to comfortably lead the match 40 – 0 in the first half. Amirul Amizan, Muhammad Safy, Nazrin Aiman and Amirul Aiman scored a try each while another two were scored by Sufi Hafizuddin Hadwan. Muhammad Aziem completed three conversions while another two was completed by Muhammad Khalil.

Pathers Blowpipes did try to make a note on the match and their effort turned reward as Nurasmadi scored their only try in the match.

Syed Shazril boys needed 15 minutes in the second half before they restart their domination and scored another 40 points in the match. Mohd Fariz who came on early in the second half scored a try with Mohd Khalil completed his third conversion. Sufi Hafizuddin Hadwan scored his third in 57th minutes. Mohd Saizul Hafiz scored 7 points for Tsunami after he completed the conversions himself after he scored a try in 66 minutes.

Tsunami added 3 more tries in the last 10 minutes as they continue to demolish demoralised Blowpipes. Sufi Hafizuddin Hadwan had 20 points in the match after he completed his fourth try. Mohd Saizul Hafiz added 2 more points with conversion before Irfan Nazhan scored his try. Mohd Fariz who started the try party in the second half also end it with style when he scored his second try in the match, the last for Tsunami in 80th minutes. Muhammad Safy added 2 more points to make it 80 – 5 before the referee, Sabirin from JRU blow the final whistle.

Tsunami spot in quarter final is yet to be confirm. They still have to wait for Kelab Sukan DBKL to finish their last match against ASAS RC. DBKL will finish fourth if they able to beat ASAS while SSTMI Tsunami will have to settle in fifth place if that happen.
