3 in 3 for Mersing Eagles

18 February 2017 – Mersing Eagles have confirmed they are the team to look for as they secured 3 successive win. With both Eagles and Iskandar Raiders won their first two matches, this 2.30pm match certainly one to look forward. Eagles scored 4 tries and completed all of them in the first half to comfortably lead 28 – 7 in the first half.

Jone Vukokulo Waqailiva scored the first try in as early as in the 5th minute of the match. Raiders kept the match in balance as they tied the match through scrum half Mohd Razmi bin Rozan and Mohd Asri bin Azhar complete conversion. Eagles Winger, Apolosi Tuiloma Tanda scored two tries. Wan Mohammad Asyraf picked up the Eagles last tries and he himself complete all the 4 conversions to give 28 points for Eagles in the first half.

Raiders tried to come back in the second half as they dominated the opening encounter of the second half. They only need 8 minutes to score their second try for the match through Safiq bin Othman. Mohd Asri bin Azhar make it two in two conversion in this match. Jone Vukokulo Waqailiva put the match to death as he scored another 5 points in the 61st minutes. Wan Mohammad Asyraf had a very good match when he completed his fifth conversion to keep his 100% record in the match.

Match ended with 35 – 14 score line after the final whistle.

Mersing Eagles sit top of the group A. They will face NS Wanderers in the next match with the chance to secure their semi final spot next week. Iskandar Raiders will face Politeknik Malaysia next at Bellamy Field on 25th February 2017
