Women Seven’s to play 4 matches in Bangkok.


14 January 2017 – The Malaysia Women Sevens team will be having a series of friendly match in Bangkok, Thailand. This is one of the plan to prepare the team before the upcoming 2017 Sea Game. Malaysia is the host for the 2017 Sea Game which is schedule on August 2017.

The Seven’s team depart from KLIA today and will land in Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok. They will be up against 3 university team and Thailand national team in this friendly tour. Malaysia will play Srinakharinwirot University, Chulalongkorn University and Bangkok University. They will end the tour against Thailand national team.


Malaysia Women Seven’s are expected to do well as they are currently rank third in the Asia Rugby Female Union (ARFU)


Malaysia will need to prepare well if they want to improve from the 28th Sea Games edition in Singapore as they came home empty handed after only manage to be the fourth best team. Thailand is the gold medalist in the edition after they beat Singapore in the final.
