Borneo Eagles to compete in MRL East Malaysia Division

14 January 2017 – Sabah only team which expected to compete in MRL Premier Division, Borneo Eagles have decline that their withdrawal are due to financial reason.

According to Kim, the Borneo Eagles Hons. Secretary, “Reason for the withdrawal or rather our decision not to participate in the League was because the team was expected to fly down (if we make it to the finals) several times, and it doesn’t seem fair nor workable from our side. Apart from the League, we will have to focus on other activities for the Team which includes overseas tours, as well as for the Club, for the whole year of 2017. In addition, we were informed that there will be an East Malaysian Tournament that will be launched for Clubs in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan, and the winners will compete against the MRL Champions. We found this more suitable for our hectic schedule.”

The news on MRL East Malaysian Tournament is certainly something new for us and this could be another interesting tournament for those in Borneo.

We would like to say sorry for any inconvenient cause to Borneo Eagles on our previous post.
