6 November 2016 – Sekolah Sukan Tuanku Ismail (SSTMI) prove that they are the best team for the Under 16 at KGV Ten’s tournament. They show that they are in the class of their own from the very first game. In the final, SSTMI overcome SBPI Jempol to win the Under 16 KGV 10’s Trophy.
Both SSTMI and SBPI Jempol cruised on the first day as they won comfortably their group game. Sekolah Sukan Tuanku Mahkota Ismail was in the group D with Victoria Institution, Kolej Islam Sultan Alam Shah and Sekolah Menengah Agama Al-Attas. SSTMI opened the group match with thumping win over Al-Attas 33 – 0 before comfortably beat Victoria Institution 28 – 0. SSTMI then beat Kolej Islam Sultan Alam Shah 17 – 5.
SBPI Jempol was in group F along side KV Wakaf Tembusu, Kolej Datu Patinggi Abang Haji Abdillah and Kolej Sultan Ismail. SBPI Jempol beat KV Wakaf Tembusu in the first match 17 – 0. They produce another great game to beat KDPA Haji Abdillah 31 – 0. In the final game, SBPI Jempol beat Kolej Sultan Ismail of Kelantan 19 – 0.
Both SBPI Jempol and SSTMI have no problem in the playoff game. SBPI Jempol beat Sekolah Menengah Sultan Alam Shah 17 – 0 at field B in the final match of the first day. SSTMI start the second day with a great win over Sekolah Menengah Bukit Kepayang 32 – 0 for their playoff game.
In the quarter final, a single try separate SBPI Jempol and SBPI Gombak 5 – 0. SSTMI on the other hand Sekolah Menengah Sains Hulu Selangor with ease with 21 – 0 scoreline. SSTMI keeps producing great tactical and discipline in the semi final as they beat home team, King George V 17 – 0. On the other semi final, SBPI Jempol overcome SBPI Kubang Pasu 7 – 3 to book the final spot.
A single try and conversion is enough for Sekolah Sukan Tuanku Mahkota Ismail to beat SBPI Jempol. A solid attacking and defensive display from SSTMI ensure the KGV 10’s Under 16 tittle belong to them.
