National 7s in numbers

9 April 2018 – Two weeks after a successful 7s Series Finale in Ipoh, we look back at some of the statistics from all the first ever Malaysia 7s Series. Here is some fact about the tournament based on the numbers.

0 – Both Perak and Terengganu were unbeaten throughout the series. They did not suffer a single loss.

0 – Sabah Women U21 did not let a single points pass them in all 5 matches as they win the Women Under 21 category. Solid

1 – Only 1 penalty try awarded throughout the series, to PDRM

2 – 2 red card was shown in the entire series and both came on the last day of the series.

3 – Kedah Women and Terengganu Women met in the final match for all 3 series. Terengganu has the perfect 100% win record in those matches.

4 – Terengganu and Perak won 4 titles each. Terengganu took home the Women Open (2 times) and Women categories with the addition of Men Qualifiers trophy. Dominant Perak swept all the Men Core title which lead them to win the overall championship.

5 – Mohamed Mohamad Nilam recorded the most try in a single game with 5 tries

6 – Teams competed in 6 different categories. Women Under 21 was organized for the first time in Ipoh.

14 – 2 14 years old ruggers took part in the 3rd series with JOSIE Mavcellina A/K Gone who played for Sarawak Women U21 being the youngest player in the series. She was born in October 2003.

16 – 16 yellow cards shown to women ruggers in the Women Open category.

18 – Mohamed Mohamad Nilam recorded the most try in the series with 18, although he only played in 2 series.

32 – Fairuz Abdul Rahman completed 32 conversions in all 3 series.

36 – Aki Loh Nong Sim was the oldest player in the series. The 36 years old was still going strong as she helped Terengganu with 2 tries and 5 conversions.

48 – 48 teams took part in the series. They represented all 14 states in Malaysia with the addition of PDRM and ATM.

71 – 71 yellow cards were shown to the player by the match officials.

83 – Abbygale Rayone recorded the most point for Women.

114 – 114 players contributed at least 2 points for their team in the Under 21 Men category.

133 – Faizal Mat Tahir recorded the highest point after all the 3 series with 133 points.

201 – There were 201 matches took place in all 3 series.

634 – All the 3 series saw 634 players played for their respective team.

96 980 – We recorded 96980 views for the live streaming over the 3 series.

800 096 – Malaysia rugby fans watch the Naza 7s Series for 800 096 minutes via our live channel.
